Sources include orchestral strings, brass, and woodwinds; vigorous explorations of piano, guitar, and cello; human voices; and a variety of percussion ranging from chimes to foot stomps. Ear-catching selections include lonesome shakuhachi flutes with reverb, droning didgeridoos, metallic tongue drums, and monastic-style chanting. On the realism side; elements like piano tuning, guitar string scrapes, and melodic phrases make excellent background sweeteners.
