Sound Mountain Collection: Vol. 3 brings a wealth of characterful sound effects mined from the treasure trove of film sound legends Ann Kroeber and Alan Splet (Dune, Blue Velvet). Perfectly complementing Volumes 1 and 2, the third and final general library in the series expands on broad coverage of major categories while offering plenty of new material and one-of-a-kind gems to inspire your sound design.

Inside, you’ll find an expertly curated assortment of both modern and vintage sound effects for all situations. Detailed Foley and human sounds include footsteps in snow, rustling foliage, hand movements, male and female vocalizations, and stadium crowds. Hard effects include creaks and squeaks from doors, wood, metal, and rope; mechanical sounds from film cameras, printers, and power tools; and rare recordings of church bells, clock towers, and boat sails. Designed material ranges from low-pitched pipe organ drones and dreamy, abstract ambiences to sci-fi machines such as ornithopters and oscillating pumps.

Kroeber and her late partner Splet are each hugely influential figures in developing and pioneering the creative use of sound in film. Their unique sound effects recording and design work can be heard in dozens of acclaimed films like The Black Stallion, Blue Velvet, and Dune, and in collaborations with directors like David Lynch, Peter Weir, Philip Kaufman, and Carroll Ballard. Kroeber has since worked on and supplied sounds for many films, television shows, and games - including six movies that won an Academy Award® in sound and seven additional nominations.
